Elf | Nude Palette

I am definitely a nude kind of girl in regards to my make up especially my eyes and since my Naked 2 was looking a bit worse for wear whilst I was in town I picked up this gorgeous Elf palette. It might only have a couple of colours but these are my perfect everyday colours that I probably wouldn't have originally grabbed.

Unfortunately, the colours are not named so I'm going to work my way across the palette from left to right and have a little chat about each colour.

This pale pink is honestly stunning, it's matte so it's a perfect all over the lid shade and that is exactly how I've been wearing it. Although it isn't too bright so I do have a to build it but that's okay as I love the look it creates. This pink would be perfect for someone with blue eyes as I love pink eye shadow on blue eyed people I really think it makes their eyes pop. Not literally.

This second colour is more of a silver/grey colour, I really like this colour as it feels really natural and really blend-able, which is important. I feel this colour could work for a lot of people as its incredibly natural and doesn't look like you have loads of eye make up on.

This darker pink is my favourite colour in this palette the way it shimmers in the light is breathtaking. The deeper pink makes for a great crease colour to high light the eye. I really like this pink and have been wearing it a lot.

This final shade is a perfect crease colour, this dark purple looks amazing run through the crease... trust me. I also feel like this could be an all over colour for a bolder look. It really is a beautiful matte purple.

Overall, this is a really good product, and for £3 you cant really go wrong. I recommend this for people who are just starting to get into eye shadows that aren't browns and 100% nudes as the pinks and the purples really help to lift this palette and take the nude look to another level.

Manchester | The Vamps

*So I just found this post in my drafts and I just had to share it it's from April lol #memories*

Manchester is possibly my favourite city, the architecture, street art and the mass range of shops makes it hard for me to stay away. Not so long ago I had a reason to return, to see my favourite humans; Amy Clarke and The Vamps.

Soon as you know it both Amy's and Molly were gonna be joining the Manchester party, a few days later and I'm on a train on the way to the city.
I had been waiting for this day for so long as I was finally seeing Amy after what felt like a million years!

Manchester was a whirlwind of emotions for me, full of laughs, tears, hugs and singing, lots and lots of singing. We stayed in a really fancy, beautiful apartment that after a night there felt like home. Honestly, I wouldn't think twice about moving into that one bed apartment with Amy.

On the first day Amy and I took it upon ourselves to go out and spend all of our money, on food, make up and polaroid film. Seriously, the amount of polaroid's we took in 3 days was crazy, must have been a solid 70.

I bought a couple of two faced products, a tangled mug and some other bits and bobs which included a Pandora ring that is now mine and Amy's friendship rings and if she doesn't wear it everyday I'll be hella annoyed.

After what felt like a lifetime in the Arndale, getting stuck in the lifts, drenched in the rain we finally met up with Amy Carr and Amy Dobson for a cheeky Nandos. Sorry for the Lad reference, it was so wrong but it felt so right.

The next day was here almost too quick and suddenly tour was over, my hair was a mess and my life was over.

After a spot of breakfast in the apartment, and 7,000 polaroid's later. Amy and I headed out the door to meet the gang at the arena. So we jumped on the tram, which we now figured out how to use after I accidently very violently asked a random stranger how it worked the day before #tourist

When we got to the arena we were welcomed my wonderful humans such as; Molly, Lydia, Bethan and Danielle.
Hands down the best part of tour is the fact I get to see all my friends who live in different parts of the country, even if it's only for a couple of hours.

After waiting outside McDonald's for what felt like 5 seconds it was time to get in the m&g queue, we had decided against going to the hotel because frankly these lashes were going to take time to put on.

About 2 hours in a hot sweaty room later we were at the front of queue; Brad complaining to us about how hot it was whilst all of us are all violently fanning ourselves.

Amy and I decided to get a photo together since we've both met them before and this meant I'd have a photo with all my favourite humans in it. This decision was made only minutes before which lead to a lot of chaos when it came to being with the boys.

We wanted to do a pose where it looked like Amy and I were fighting over Brad as well... he's our fave if you didn't already know which I mean you did.  Side note: The boys recognise us and got hella confused when we were together since she's from Ireland and well i'm not.

After violently fighting with James about the fact I was going to be pulling Brad's arm not him we managed to get the shot but then it all went down hill. We hadn't prepared for the fact there would be a second photo and well... it's just a mess.

I was the only one who thought it was squad goals... I was wrong.

After m&g we went on a mission to find instax-guy-with-the-fit-bum if you know then you know. On route we found Lydia, Danielle, and Bethan, upon finding instax-guy-with-the-fit-bum he was talking to us as I was just grabbing loads of lanyards whilst staring him in the eyes. Neither of us blinked.
I then began to just hand them out, honestly I should have been paid.

It was eventually time for the gig, the final show of the tour. It was just so fun the boys were incredible as always and with it being the last show the crew and other bands played pranks on the boys. Which included giving Molly and I a heart attack. The boys mums and sisters started walking down the run way to Demi's part of Somebody To You and we genuinely thought it was Demi. I think Molly cried....or maybe that was me.

After the gig we just chilled and watched films and slept.

The final day had come, tour was over, I was about to leave my friends not knowing the next time i'd be seeing them and my heart was truly broken.

I had the best couple of days with my favourite humans and I would give anything to be back. Until next time girls x

FAQ | Jessica Rose

Via Pinterest

Recently my blog has randomly blown up and it's welcomed a lot of new readers so I decided to answer a few questions that I often get asked, plus older viewers can learn more about me.

How old are you?

19

When did you start writing your blog?

Sunday, 25 May 2014

What made you create a blog?

It's sort of stupid but hey let's go with it, basically 16 year old me thought "hey I've got a busy summer wouldn't it be cool to document it somewhere that isn't a tweet" so "lifeofJessD" was born.
After that it just kind of evolved to Jessica Rose which is now a photography and beauty blog.
Throwback to when I didn't want people to know I had a blog now I am self promo city.

What is your favourite part of being a blogger?

My favourite part about being a blogger is I get to "show off" my work to the people of the internet. I am very passionate about what I do and what I love being able to share that it's just such a cool thing to me. Plus who doesn't love a cheeky eye shadow palette.

How do you stay motivated?

Pfft as if.
No for real I am so proud of myself, two years later and my blog has developed until a YouTube Channel and and App (I told you I was self promo city) I honestly never thought I would still be doing this, like I said I thought it was just going to be for that summer when I went to One Direction and my auntie got married I never thought I'd actually carry it on.
I always tell myself  "Jess just write when you feel like it" and I do, therefore it doesn't become a chore more a hobby.

A massive thank you to those who have decided to click on my little blog, it means the world to me

Pink Hair

FINALLY! I have wanted to dye my hair pink for so long and finally Lynn said I could do it!
Yes as a 19 year old living in a different city in my own house I do still ask my mum for permission.

So I had absolutely no idea how to dye hair because I've only ever had my hair ombre'd by a hairdresser so I enlisted the experienced hair dying expert Emily Hutchinson.

We first had to deal with my brassy blonde ends, so we took the Jermone Russel Bblonde Maximum Colour Toner to try and get my hair as white as possible to ensure that it picked up as much dye as possible.

After leaving the toner on for like half an hour it was time to wash my hair with purple shampoo (recommended  from Ellie's mum who's a professional hairdresser which I am not. - Check out Ellie's blog here) I washed my hair about a thousand times just to make sure it was white as heck!

The final step is the scary one, I had to put on the pink dye. Don't get me wrong I was so excited that Emily had to keep shouting at me to stay still. I had watched so many videos and read a few blog posts about dying your hair pink and pretty much everyone used the Live Color XXL, I'm not one to take risks so this is the one I went with.
I mixed it with a considerable amount of conditioner to ensure it wasn't blindingly bright and it worked so well.

The final product!
I am so happy I have wanted this so for long, however, I keep forgetting i've dyed it and I keep scaring myself when I look down. o me.

Snapchat filter hoe.

New Products In My Life

There's nothing I love more than getting new products, swatching them and freaking out over how beautiful they are then proceeding to take a moment to appreciate that they're now in my life and I can put them on my face. Whenever I want!

Today I want to talk to you about the 3 new products that have recently been brought into my life and I have been madly obsessing over ever since.

The first thing I want to talk about is the Tartlette palette that Amy surprised me with because I did well at uni #friendshipgoals I mean I had been obsessing over it since it came out, which involved tagging her in every photo of it on Instagram. I think she got the hint.

Possibly the best thing about this palette is not the flawless colours, the incredible pigment or that its pink its the fact that it smells like mini eggs. Oh yeah every morning I am greeted with greatness.

The next product is something I have had my eye on for a while. I follow a lot of beauty bloggers and they had been ranting and raving about this product and I kept telling myself  "Jess you have to try this, your life depends on it" So after not a lot of self persuasion I decided to invest. However, it came to what felt like a lifetime to hunt one down. Jas managed to pick one up for me, what a hero. Safe to say I was a very happy human.

After Anastasia came out with the Moonshine palette (which I am madly crushing over) I have wanted to try a purple highlighter. I was not disappointed. There's footage of me in my vlog -link- where I get a little bit emotional over this product, it was a truly magical moment shared by all.

Every highlight in this quad is so pigmented I feel like a glowing fairy princess, this palette is only £8 and honestly i'd pay £80... I mean I probably wouldn't but I would seriously consider it.

The final product isn't a palette which honestly i'm just as surprised as you are, as I feel like all I ever buy is some sort of palette. I picked up a Lime Crime lipstick by accident lol. I thought I was ordering a shitty one from Amazon, turns out I was wrong.

When it arrived I didn't have high hopes since it cost about £3 but when I opened the amazon parcel and was greeted with bright red packaging my heart stopped. I couldn't believe it, this isn't my luck. Knowing me I could have ended up with a purple pen. I had never tried Lime Crime but boy was I ready to.

The liquid lipstick I got is in the colour Cashmere but it feels like silk. It is so easy to apply and the colour is a perfect bold purply-nude. I would take a photo but I have a giant spot which I have called Steve and well...he's not camera ready.

Special thanks to Amy Clarke for being the best friend in the world

Amy Clarke | Photography

Last week my best friend Amy flew over from Ireland to come and see me for a few days before uni and life continues again. We had been talking about doing a photography shoot together for months so we took this as a perfect opportunity to do exactly that.

It was so nice to see Amy again since I hadn't seen her since April at Vamps Tour Manchester.
This time was extra special as I had secretly planned for two of our other Vamps friends to surprise her. Myself, Amy and Molly came up with a master plan to tell Amy that Molly was at working at smiggle and that Amy was bed ridden with tonsillitis so they couldn't come, little did she know she'd be opening the door to them a few days later.

It was such a nice fews days and I miss it an awful lot, bring on Selena in November.

*Warning: there's 3 days worth of shoots here. We were hungover for a day hence why there isn't 4*

Day 1: Consisted of a Nandos mate date and walking down weird back streets taking photos. Since it was Amy's first shoot with me she needed to get used to being in front of the camera and I needed to work out how she works as a model and what angles work best etc. Day 1 was essentially chicken and a test shoot.

Day 2: This was the big shoot day, we ventured around Leeds looking for locations and buying the last minute essentials for our big night on the town. We got so many funny looks from teenagers as we stood in the middle of the street to get the perfect shot, I also received a few looks from adults which made me feel like a real photographer, very hard to explain but very much real.

We managed to find the perfect location for the shoot we had in mind, it was on top of a bridge... kind of, not really. The main road in the background made for the perfect grey background with lights that perfectly complimented Amy. I was very thrilled.

Day 3: This was kind of an accidental shoot, I was carrying my Canon around with me all week because I never know when I might get the perfect location. There was I wall I really wanted to go to but it was in the middle of a very busy childrens park and although innocent it felt wrong so we opted out.
That being said we got some good shots in Horsforth Park. The photos from this day aren't my favourite and I think its because we couldn't get into the photoshoot mindset as the reason we were there is because we had gone to book our trip to Disneyland Paris in January. We had always said "one day we'll go to Disney together and it'll be great" but I don't think either of us expected it to happen so soon.

I think this is the most I've ever written on a photography post, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Until next time friends x
