Skin Care Routine | Beauty

It’s safe to say I am culprit number one of not taking care of my skin. In all honestly it was something I just couldn’t be bothered to do, felt like another thing stopping me from walking in the door and clambering into bed but near the end of 2019 I sat myself down and said “look girl somethings gotta change you can’t just use and make up wipe and be done with it” so I went out and bought some new face stuff to motivate me to take care of my skin. I’m well aware it shouldn’t have taken for me to buy a new face wash to want to clean my face but it did so let’s move on.

I have always been blessed with quite nice skin, yes I get spots and blemishes but I am very lucky that I’m not prone to acne and I took that for granted. I often will roll out of bed in the morning and just do eye make up and eyebrows and not worry about face make up, I feel quite confident that I don’t need foundation but it does make my face look a lot better let’s be real.

I wasn’t quite ready to splash the cash just yet so I went for your standard drug store products. I’m going to try and explain to you my “skin care routine” if you want a name for it. I start off by taking the majority if not all of my make up off using micellar water. I’d always been that person who used a couple of make up wipes and was done with it but if I’m honest with myself my face was never fully clean but since using this B. Pure Micellar Water I truly feel like it gets the majority of my make up off. I got this bottle maybe a month ago and as you can see I’ve nearly used it all as I like to make double sure I’ve got as much off as I can, trip to the shops soon I don’t want to take my make up off with anything else now.

One time Beth told me that I shouldn't use micellar water to take my eye make up off and I thought to myself "no way am I buying another thing and added another step to my routine" but then when I went to Superdrug there was a buy one get one free offer on so I decided to get an eye make up remover. I really like this one, I chose the same brand simply for the offer but it works really well, honestly not sure if its better or worse than just using the micellar water but I am conforming to the skin care etiquette of buying more than you need and just going with it. I might update you one day at what I prefer but for now I'm using the B. Pure Eye Make Remover.

Once I’ve taken as much make up off as I possibly can I move into the bathroom and wash my face. When I was in boots I had no idea what face wash to get I just sort of stood there asking myself “do I have oily skin? Maybe it’s dry?” I was clueless so I settled on a pink one I like the smell of and I don’t regret doing that, could of been there for hours.

When I finally decided on a pink face wash that smelt like grapefruit I picked up Neutrogena's Refreshingly Clear Facial Wash and the Refreshingly Clear Moisturiser both in the pink grapefruit scent.
From my memory I don't think I have ever used anything by Neutrogena before but I knew it was a good brand from things I’ve heard down the blogging grapevine. I also picked up the moisturiser from the same range and something I have done for a long time is moisture my face so this tale is not all neglect. I wanted to get the same range for both products as I thought it would present the best results, I use both products twice a day (morning and night) and I am really happy with the results. After my first couple of uses I knew I liked it, the pink grapefruit scent is very refreshing and I really do feel how clean and soft my skin is.
I decided to use a glove to wash my face with instead of my hands there’s a deadly virus don’t you know as I although I often wash and sanitise my hands there will always be more germs than a glove - I believe this is an eco-tools exfoliating glove, I want to make it clear I don’t press super hard to exfoliate my skin but it does feel super soft after I use it so maybe every morning I’m slowing exfoliating my face away.

Who doesn't love a face mask? I obviously don't do this every night but I try to use a face mask at least once a week the one I have been using is L'oreal Pure Clay Red Algae Glow can you tell I gravitate towards pink things...
I really like this brand so far I mean I haven't had outstanding results as soon as I use it but my mum did say my skin was glowing and I am certainly not with child. I leave this mask on for about 20 minutes just standard whilst I read my book, watch TV or just do whatever I need to do walking around like I have no idea of my foundation shade and I often forget I have it on.

That's it really, I try and that's all that matters right now. I hope you enjoyed this more traditional blogger post, I am trying to inject a little more me back into this blog so bare with me while I try things a little outside of my comfort zone.

Universal & Islands of Adventure | Travel

There is simply no words to describe how much I was looking forward to visiting Universal (I was excited for Disney too obviously but I love Harry Potter). As a big rollarcoaster fan I have always dreamed of  going back to Universal as when I was 8 years old I was too short and couldn’t ride anything. I have a vivid memory of crying about being too small to ride the Hulk so at the ripe age of 22 I rode it twice and almost cried of joy - yeah I'm that type of person.

We decided to take two days out of our trip to go to Universal we stayed in the beautiful Loews hotel for one night. The main reason we did this was so we could get free express passes for the rides. Although the park was relatively uiet it was nice to be able to walk on to the rides and not have to worry about waiting in long lines. Due to Hagrids magical adventure being the newest ride we weren't able to use our express pass for this so we didn't get to ride as we had limited time but when I eventually go back I will ride it, I just wanna see a blas-ended skrewt in real life. The hotel was really nice, a bit posh for me but I would 100% reccomend.

I was looking forward to Universal for months, all I wanted was a wand. I had watched hundreds of vlogs online of people buying wands I was so excited to get my own. I ended up chosing the Interactive Ash Wand from Olivanders and I love it. Performing the spells was so much fun I truly felt magical. Just walking in Hogsmede or exploring Diagon Alley was something I had always dreamed of and I have never felt so happy as I have when I was there. Getting the Hogwarts express between the two parks was a highlight of the trip for me, yes I shed a little tear but I do not know how the Hogwarts students sat in those compartments all day they were a little uncomfortable.

Another thing I am a big fan of is Jurassic Park so the ride and area around the park was so cool I loved it all.  I loved Universal so much I often just sit at my desk wishing and dreaming about going back.

Just like my Disney post I am going to included my favourite images from our time at Universal, we ate amazing food, saw the Macy's christmas parade, went on lots of rides - a lot of the rides in the two parks are 4D rides which often makes me feel a little sick after a while but I still had a good time. We met the grinch and Claire got a candyfloss as big as her head!

Q & A | Lifestyle

In the past I have done photography Q&A’s and the occasional lifestyle post so I decided to ask my Instagram followers (all 800 of them, Miss Popular I know!) to ask me some questions and I got a couple of good ones so I thought i’d answer them today.

Any big plans for 2020?

2020 has came round so fast I didn't have a chance to plan anything big. I guess a constant plan is to travel more and get the most out of this year seeing as many friends across the country as possible. 2019 was quite a chill year in regards to the fact I didn't have any kind of education for an entire year so this year I am putting my head down and getting to work with both my full time job and for Jessica Rose.
I am also trying to plan as many photo shoots as I possible to improve my skills - my aim is to shoot at least once a month.

How do you stay motivated?

I do my best to stay motivated but it isn't always easy I go through phases where I am extremely motivated to do my best with my creative career, go to the gym and drink more water but then suddenly it will just drop off and I without even knowing it suddenly I haven't been to the gym in weeks and my skin is dry.
I think what's more important than staying motivated 24/7 is to realise when you have dropped off and find that motivation again unfortunately there is so no magic secret I can tell you to make it happen overnight it has to come from within and wanting to succeed.

Would you change anything about 2019?

No. I don't like to dwell on things I wish I had done but I do wish I'd passed my theory test earlier so I could go in for my test earlier as well as had more planned fun. I want to do activities and days out with my friends and family not just the same stuff so I regret not doing more of that in the summer but there's always this year.

Travel Plans?

Myself and Molly are going to Disneyland Paris in March for her birthday which is something we have said we wanted to do for years and now we are finally doing it, very excited for that.
A cheeky city break with Hannah is always on the cards so potentially travelling to somewhere in Europe and as everyone knows I want to go to a cottage with my close friends and it's been months since it was attempted to be planned and yet here we are still not having plans to do that.

Your favorite book/ movie?

It is a given that Harry Potter is my favorite book and movie franchise of all time.
But Harry Potter aside, I have taken this question to mean a book series that has been turned into films, so on that thought I chose The Hunger Games. My favorite genre of books are young adult dystonia world filled with action, romance and people in colorful costumes and hunger games hits all of those.
Maze Runner is a close second.

Do you have a favorite model?

Of course I have models I am more friendly with or shoot with more often but I couldn't pick a favorite model I have personally worked with they all offer so much and are so talented.
Can't wait to work with new and old faces this year.

What is an accomplishment you are most proud of?

My biggest accomplishment would have to be moving to Leeds and getting my degree. Back in 2015 I was not in a place mentally to go to university but I knew I had to and I am so glad that I did. I am so beyond proud of myself for getting my degree and becoming the person I am today because of my time in Leeds.
On a much smaller scale, just how much I have grown in a person in the last year or so I am so much more confident in myself and I don't rely on others as much as I used to.

There you have it, some questions people asked me on Instagram, this might have been a plot to get more people to following Instagram but isn’t that what all the “social media stars” do these days.

Is PhotoPass Worth it? | Disneyland Paris

I have only been to Disneyland Paris twice so I am not yet an expert but I have been once with PhotoPass and once without so I feel like I at least know something.

In January of 2017 Amy and I didn't know what we were getting into so we didn't want to spend the extra forty odd pound on something we weren't 100% sure on. However, in September we decided to purchase PhotoPass and in my opinion it was a great decision.

PhotoPass tends to be a lot more common on DisneyWorld trips as you're there for longer and there is more photo-ops however in Paris we were there for 4 days and came back with a lot of photos.

What does PhotoPass include?
  • Ride photos
  • Meet and Greet photos
  • PhotoPass photographers around the park
Which may not seem like much but I tell you it is. One of my favourite things about the PhotoPass is due to their only being two of us without asking random strangers like we did in January to take a photo of the two of us in front of the castle we got a professional photographer to take them.

Another benefit of PhotoPass is ride photos, unlike in January where we bought photos in a frame 2 for twenty euros I do believe in September with PhotoPass we were able to access every single ride photo we wanted downloading them to the app. It was so simply we were go to the preview and scan the code or go to the desk and they would crop it to just us. This is possibly my favourite part of PhotoPass as both Amy and I love rides and roller coasters so to be able to prove we road space mountain 5 times in extra magic hours was just a funny bonus.

Although Amy and I aren't massive character meet people it is always super exciting meeting your favourite characters, for Amy it was Jack Sparrow and for myself Darth Vader. Luckily for us both characters had PhotoPass photographers, the best part of that is you get to enjoy meeting the character without worrying about getting pictures of your friends. I got to enjoy the interactions we both had rather than worrying about getting photos. Meeting Darth Vader really proved how amazing PhotoPass is as when we were inside it was bright red lightening whereas on the final images they had been edited to normal colours which we couldn't have done if we took our own photos. The only negative is that not every character meet has a photographer but it makes all the difference in lightening such as the Princess Pavilion.

If it was up to me I would get PhotoPass every single time. I do think it's worth the money if you can afford that bit extra. Do I think its absolutely vital to your trip? no. Do I think its worth the money? Yes. If anything its worth it for the convenience, you get someone to take high quality fun images of your party and you get all your meets and rides. The main negative is that there isn't that much you can use PhotoPass for in Paris, there isn't a large amount of photographers just walking around or in photo ops I only saw them at certain character meets and outside the castle. Whereas on my trip to Florida there was photographers all over sometimes two or three in busy areas such as; down Main Street or in front of the castle.
