North East Live Experience

Hello Everyone,

North East live happened like a month ago. It was AMAZING! I originally went with my friend Ellie and her younger sister but by the end we had met up with Amy and Beth the reason we didn’t all go together like at One Direction is because we had standing and Amy and Beth had seated tickets. It was held at the Stadium Of Light in Sunderland which Is where I saw One Direction so I knew where I was going and where everything would be so that was incredibly useful.

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing it was sponsored by Blink box music, which has an app that allows you to listen to music for free! Free things are always good. . I’d never been to an event like it before it’s a smaller version of Summertime Ball which I would have LOVED to go to!

I had convinced myself that Little Mix were going to be there and I was incredibly disappointed when it didn’t happen. But every grey cloud has a silver lining as all my favourite artists were there such as : The Vamps, The Saturdays, Jason Derulo, Rixton, Austin Mahone, Rizzle Kicks, Jessie J and many more. So naturally I was as excited as a kid in a candy store. The atmosphere was incredible throughout everyone was singing along and dancing however; there was quite a lot of people who had a few more alcoholic beverages than I would have liked them too. No one likes scary drunk people.

It started at about 2PM so just like every music event I attend we went about 3 hours earlier and qued. There’s something about the excitement of getting inside and seeing artists you love and have dreamed of seeing in real life that makes waiting so exciting and bearable. Also, I’m a talker so I like to mingle with people whether they like it or not. We met 2 lovely girls in the crowd who were just as excited to see The Vamps as we were. Even thought I’ve seen them 3 times every single time is just as exciting and magical but I also get really frantic I’m not quite sure why. Once we got inside the gates we were given standing wrist bands like the red One Directions ones and the fun began!

I knew it was going to be hot so I wore my bright pink playsuit which is great until I needed the toilet then it wasn’t so great. But I’m glad I wore it because it was BOILING must have been about 25 degrees which is hot for England especially hot in the crowd with the sun beaming down. I think I burnt my nose which wasn’t good. I wore my pink playsuit with my denim jacket which I ended up tying round my waist but I’m glad I had it since it was chilly on the long route home and I paired this with my white converse.

I was going to wear my black jeans and a white t-shirt and honestly I am so glad I didn’t because I would have died. It was so hot in the crowd at about 4 we had to come out of it (Just after The Vamps had performed) because it was so hot and sweaty and I don’t give up easily when it comes to concerts/gigs It was just too hot. It was getting hard to breathe and breathing is important.

When we were in the crowd something very exciting happened to me! I saw way up in the stands THE VAMPS just standing there watching Neon Jungle. They were JUST STANDING THERE so I grabbed Ellie and told her we had to go like now! But they were performing next so we made an agreement to go once they’ve came off stage. After their set had finished it was GO time! Myself, Ellie and her sister just started running, not just running sprinting. We ran around the entire stadium to find out to my disappointment it was infact Rixton. I’m going to be real here I was terribly disappointed and refused to leave this seating area until The Vamps came back. I had seen The Vamps standing here I was certain of it, they had to come back sooner or later and I was willing to wait.

Jason Derulo had just came on stage for his set. I have seen him before a couple of years ago and honestly he just gets better with time. He can move dat body like no one else. After about 10 minutes of persistent "persuading" from Ellie we decided to go back into the crowd and just enjoy the rest of the day. But honestly I couldn’t concentrate knowing that Brad Simpson was something in this building waiting to be meeted and greeted by me. Unfortunately, I never got to meet The Vamps and still haven’t to this day which I am honestly not ok about. If anyone reading this knows of a way I can meet them let me know because my lack of meeting and greeting is starting to effect me emotionally.

After we had danced around in the crowd for a bit we decided to go for pizza and join Beth and Amy up in the seated area ready for Jessie J to come on. I had heard good things about her performance and I used to be quite a fan of her but honestly I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did.

Ok so me and my friends DO NOT get embarrassed like at all. We sing and shout everywhere we go, we’re loud and excited 24/7 take that as a good or bad thing we don't walk we dance and frolic. So naturally we aren’t afraid to sing at the top of our lungs and dance in front of thousands of people since we could be seen around the entire stadium (I can confirm this because when myself and Ellie were at the other side of the stadium accidently meeting Rixton we could see Amy and Beth dancing across the stadium it was beautiful) So we were getting pumped up by the music that was being played between acts which included Mr Worldwide himself (Pitbull) lots of love for Pitbull. Unfortunately Pitbull did not attend North East Live but if he did it wouldn't be an experience it would be an adventure. Anyway, so the 5 of us were singing at the top of our lungs some may say “embarrassing ourselves” whereas I prefer the term “expressing myself through the medium of dance” and all of a sudden these small (peasant) children starting mocking us. Excuse me small child kanye not. But that didn’t stop us. We danced until our feet hurt and sang until we lost our voices. Dance like no ones watching and sing like you're actually good at it.

Once all the singing and dancing was over it was time to head home and go to bed. It had been an incredibly long day in the hot sun and we were all tired and ready to sleep.

The whole day was absolutely amazing I am a massive fan of live music I always have been and hopefully always will be. Personally I don’t think there’s anything better than singing along to the artists who wrote/perform your favourite songs. I have been incredibly lucky to have gone to as many concerts/gigs that I have and am continuing to go to more and more and I am so thankful for this.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my North East Live Experience hopefully next time ill actually Meet The Vamps and won’t get sunburnt.

Summer Smoothie

Hey Everyone!
So summer is FINALLY here! So I decided to make my favourite drink Pineapple and Mango smoothies!
They’re so quick and simple to make takes about 10 minutes max perfect for when you just want a quick healthy tasty beverage!
To make these smoothies you need:
  •          2 cups of Orange Juice
  •          1 Mango
  •          ½ Pineapple
  •          Ice

It’s that simple!
I also picked up some SUPER CUTE jar style glasses from Primark for £1.50 which is an absolute bargain!

First this you need to do is cut up the mango and Pineapple into chunks so you can blend them. Unfortunately I don’t have a proper blender or a juicer so I just used a hand type blender thing (wow Jess so helpful) so I just blended the pineapple and mango together then added the orange juice.
Note: you can use less or more orange juice if you want

Finally, I added some Ice to make it like a Mango and Pineapple ice blend

Guys it is literally that simple and it tastes AMAZING! It’s definitely going to be my summer drink. I hope you enjoyed this and want to make your own now!

The Vamps

Hey everyone!
Today on “Review Sunday” I am going to be talking about the new up and coming band “The Vamps” I am a HUGE fan of the boys (I mean come on have you seen them?) but that’s ok everyone has their own opinion and “Review Sunday” is where I share mine. Please leave a comment on what your opinion of whatever I’m reviewing are and suggestions of what you want me to review. Anyway enough chit chat let’s get on with it.

So just incase you’ve been living under a rock or something here’s a little bit of info about who The Vamps are and why they’re the new up and coming band. The Vamps are a British Pop Rock band made up of 4 members; Bradley Will Simpson (lead vocals and guitar), James McVey (Lead guitar and vocals), Connor Ball (bass guitar and vocals) and Tristan Evans (drums and vocals) The boys all individually had YouTube channels where they uploaded covers and that is how the band got together. The band was signed in November 2012 with Mercury Records only months after the band had formed. The band has an incredible manager Joe O’Neill who also manages “The Struts” Joe has given them incredible opportunities. The band have been support acts for artists such as; The Wanted, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and McFly. They have also played several festival-style events around the UK such as Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

The Vamps have done INCREDIBLY well very quickly I mean it does help being incredibly attractive and very good at what they do. On 29th of September 2013, The Vamps released their debut single “Can We Dance” which is a fun feel good song that shows off their personalities the song was very popular and reached Number 2 on the UK singles chart which is amazing for their first single. I love this song because it’s a fun song you can definitely sing and dance along to. They also released 2 more singles “Wild Heart” and “Last Night” which also did AMAZING! Increasing the bands popularity ready for their big album release!

“Meet The Vamps” I know we would all like to meet them I know but unfortunately that’s not what I’m referring too here. Their new debut Album “Meet the Vamps” was dropped on 14th April 2014 and it’s AMAZING! The songs are written by the band so they’re personal to them and relate to things in everyone’s lives. The Album consists of 15 songs with a mixture of upbeat and some slower songs, perfect for whatever you feel like listening to. The Deluxe Edition has 3 bonus tracks; on the floor, Golden and fall.  I love this album it’s definitely an album I could listen to on repeat. Brads voice is perfect on every song; he has the ability to change his voice to match the feel of the songs. What I mean by this is if it’s an emotional song such as “She’s The One” you can really feel the emotion in his voice and with a fun happy bouncy song such as “smile” you can hear this he is truly happy and it brings a smile to my face. Pardon the pun.
I love The Vamps not just because their music is excellent and they have a bright future ahead of them but also because they’re wonderful people. I haven’t been fortunate enough to meet the boys yet. (One day people, one day it will happen and it will be magical) but I can tell from how they react with fans they have met and in interviews etc they’re genuine lads and because they came from different places and grew together as a band they have different personalities which bounce off each other making their friendship stronger therefore making their band stronger.

My Favourite member of the band is Brad because he has an INCREIBLE voice! Sometimes I have to listen to their album in bursts so that it doesn’t get too much for me to handle. Yeah I’m a fangirl. Judge me. It’s so hard for me to pick a favourite song from the album but if I had to chose 2 I would pick “Last Night” and “Lovestruck” I would pick Last Night because it’s such a good song to sing and dance along to but also it was the point where everyone knew the band was going to be big and produce great things. The song was a MASSIVE hit and got to Number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. I also love Lovestruck because Brad sounds amazing and you can feel the emotion behind the lyrics and I just LOVE it.

I am lucky enough to see the boys 4 times this year. That’s right FOUR! Yeah I can’t believe it either. I saw them for the first time in February when they supported Taylor Swift at London’s O2. It was incredible to see a young boyband who had only released 2 singles at this point get everyone up on their feet singing and dancing. I knew at that moment that I was going to love them. I had listened to a couple of their YouTube songs and had heard their singles but I wasn’t as big of a fan then as I am now. Then when I saw them again at The Wanted in March Last Night had been released and I loved them. They’re absolutely amazing live if you get a chance go and see them! I am going to see them this June at North East Live and then again in September when they embark on their own tour which is going to be so good I can’t wait!

Because everyone’s opinions are different I asked a couple of my friends what they thought of The Vamps and here is what they think:

I am defiantly a fan of the vamps because I enjoy their music as it’s quite upbeat and makes me happy whenever I listen to them. I love all of them however I think James Mcvey stands out the most because he is just beautiful and talented and I like that he plays guitar aswell. However, I really like Tristan because he is very good at playing the drums in the group and stands out to me as he’s quite shy and just like the other members is truly grateful to be where he is. I love a lot of their songs so I find it hard to choose just one, because they're all so good! I love the vamps so much and I'm very proud of the boys!
-Amy @amy_wilson12

I am a big fan of the vamps and I am very excited that I will be seeing them 3 times this year! They’re incredible live as they interact with the crowd waving and smiling getting the crowd excited. Even though they have only supported and played occasional gigs for example: Radio Disney Music Awards and Radio 1’s Big Weekend they’re natural performers especially Brad he was born to be on stage. I love all of the members but my favourite vamp would have to be James! I love him so much he's got a beautiful voice and a beautiful face. My favourite song from Meet the Vamps would either be Girls on TV or Somebody to you (the non Demi Lovato version). I think the vamps are great because they have a unique sound and have worked very hard for all of their success and they really deserve it!
-Beth @13Bethr

I know a lot of people love James and Brad the most but personally I love Connor! He’s blonde like me but also he is very sweet and his smile is so adorable it makes me melt. I love The Vamps because they have worked to get where they are, it wasn’t just handed to them on a plate. I enjoy writing music and playing guitar so I love that aspect of them I always like artists who write their own songs I feel like they’re a lot more personal. My favourite songs from the album are: “Somebody to you” and “She was the one” I love somebody to you because it puts me in a good mood and I can defiantly relate to “She was the one” on an emotional level.
