London Adventures

I haven't been to London in so long, in fact the last time I went was for Taylor Swift's RED tour in 2014 so when Molly asked if I was able to go down to meet Little Mix I wasn't going to say no.
If you know me you'll know there's 2 people I love way more than I probably should - Brad Simpson and Perrie Edwards so when I was given the opportunity to go down and meet Little Mix at their book signing you know I cried.

It was such a wonderful day, I love being with Molly as she's exactly like me - a Slytherin.

The day started with a 7:37 train to London Kings cross, it was a wonderful Virgin train with a plug socket which is always a good time.

When I finally arrived to kings cross at about 9:40  I instantly got lost for about 5 minutes until I was finally reunited with Molly. We then queued for about 20 minutes to go to Hogwarts. Was truly magical.

Once in Hogwarts we decided to go to Waterstones and meet Little Mix. More waiting, more queues and suddenly I was standing in front of Perrie.
I don't even have words for how happy I am.

After the emotional trauma of meeting my favourite girls it was off to solve some crimes with Sherlock and Dr Watson.

After what felt like hours of solving crimes we decided to stop for a Costa before we had go and get our Hogwarts supplies for the year ahead.

Since it's pretty much the beginning of term the Harry Potter shop was so busy, people of all ages gagging to get their hands on a new wand and cloak. That being said Molly and I still managed to ween our way into the Slytherin section where I picked up a cereal bowl cause even though Dumbls puts on a banging meal for us all I still gotta have my midnight coco pops. Of course Molly picked up some life accessories such as; House phone case and Deathly Hallows earrings. You thought we wouldn't buy anything? You're kidding right..

Business Cocopops
I had such a wonderful time in London, so much that it doesn't even feel like I went. I feel so spaced out from happiness. Meeting Perrie was so amazing even if it was just for 4 seconds, she's so fucking beautiful in person it's full on wild. Of course I loved seeing Molly and I can't wait to see her in a couple of days she's a wonderful human who pays for me to see Perrie and gives me hugs and tells me how ugly I am...and means it. She's wonderful.
By far the best part was fighting with Molly about where the Sherlock house was and then proceeding to awkwardly stand there and take a picture knowing someone actually lives there.

London it was good, even if I did spend £5 on water. Cya soon.

Autumn Lipsticks

Although it feels like winter as the nights are getting way shorter and it's so cold we need 3 pairs of socks and 6 blankets just so we don't freeze to death but nevertheless Autumn is my favourite season of all time. I love the colours, the clothes, wrapping up warm with cute scarfs and layers but what I love the most is it's the season of dark lipsticks.

Although i'm a strong lover of nude lipsticks I have a soft spot for dark berries and dark  and there isn't a more perfect time to where them than during the autumn months.

Today I'm going to talk you through some of mine and my housemates favourite autumnal lipsticks.

In no particular order I am going to start with one of my favourite lipsticks of all time, Mehr by Mac. This is such a gorgeous purply colour that I often wear on a night out but in autumn I always wear it on a day to day basis.

The next lipstick is "superb wine" by Avon which is a gorgeous berry colour, the colour of red wine some would say. I feel like this is the perfect colour to wear this time of the year as it screams autumn to me, the dark colour reminds me of wrapping up in scars and drinking hot chocolate. I think this lip could be easily carried into winter. I have heard really good things about Avon matte lipsticks.

Everyone knows I am a big fan of the Kate Moss lipsticks, always have been and always will be. So when I saw they had darker lipsticks for this time of year I couldn't resist. The colour I have been wearing is 01 it's a beautiful deep red and I love it. I'm not someone who wears reds, I feel like it's too much pressure but this is a perfect colour.

The final lipstick I'm going to be talking about is by a brand I don't tend to use - Bourjois. The lipstick I have been using is in the colour Violine Strass this isn't my favourite of the lipsticks but I do wear it. I really like the colour again it's quite dark but a bit purply so it's not to aggressive.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I love lipsticks and I love autumn so I feel like it was appropriate to share my favourites with you guys! Let me know what your go to autumn lipstick is.

Anxiety | Update

"Be Gentle with yourself you're doing the best you can"

I never expected I would be talking about this topic on here again as writing the previous post made me want to throw my laptop away and never open it again. That being said, a lot has changed since I wrote that post and I finally feel ready to talk about it again.

I wish I could write "everything is fixed and life is wonderful" but that's not true.

In fact it's close to the opposite but i'm powering through, as Jas would say "what do we do? We power through" that might be about tequila shots but I feel like it's appropriate.

After what feels like a lifetime of suffering with anxiety I feel like it's safe to say you have to take everyday as it comes, life is hard. Life is hard for everyone anxiety or not. It's so hard to talk about anxiety in general as it's so different for every single person.

Back in 2015 (which feels like so long ago) I wrote a post publishing that I suffer with sever anxiety and although only a year on a lot has changed. Yes I still suffer with intense anxiety, yes I still miss out on exciting things, yes I sometimes can't go to a lecture due to the fear or breaking down or panicking in a hall full of people who have no idea my mind is hacked.

As an anxiety and depression sufferer my mind is wired differently and it adapts to situations differently. A simple catch up in a cafe with a friend sounds like such a fun, perfect situation to a lot of people, not to me. The idea of travelling there alone, going to a place I don't know, wondering how the person will react when they see me, and worst of all, worrying about whether I will cry or not.

I have always been a crier, my whole life. I cry when I feel any emotion. So the thought of sitting in a room and bursting into tears for what appears like no reason cripples me and I don't know why.

Right now as I lie on the sofa home alone as my friends are all out having a good time makes me feel like my life is a war. That might sound weird but everyday I am fighting battles and desperately trying to find a way to make peace in my mind.

I am beyond thrilled to tell you that peace doesn't feel a million miles away.

Of course there are days where i'm fully prepared to throw in the towel and give it all up but there's a small voice in my mind, my mums voice that reminds me of all the amazing things in my life. My friends. family, passions and my career goal. I have a place on this earth, and I'm not giving that up for anything.

Throughout my life I have seen a number of therapists, i'm not going to lie to you some of them were awful but a couple have changed my life. I know how my anxiety works, believe me I have heard it a thousand times. I know that my brain thinks there's danger and wants to "fight or flight"  but facts can't fix years of pretending it doesn't exist. Years of figuring my brain out, down to the facts. I know what triggers me, I know what places to avoid. I know why I have anxiety, I know what makes it worse but what I want to know is how to get rid of it.

The answer is, I wont.

I can't just fix my brain overnight. Pulling the head off a weed won't stop it from growing back. I have to tackle the problem from the root. The roots that have dug themselves deep into my nature.

You might be thinking "stop attention seeking"  I have heard that phrase a thousand times throughout my mental health journey and I will hear it for years to come. I have never spoken out about my anxiety so people will talk about me, feel sorry for me or do something to make me smile. I have talked about my anxiety so that people understand that the reason i'm not going to their birthday is because my brain won't let me. The reason I can't function like a normal human. The reason my heart aches everyday.

Have you ever felt like your world is crashing down on you and you just don't know how to hold it up. How to juggle life in a way that is both practical and effective, desperately trying to find a way to hold the weight of the world without hurting yourself or the people you love? Yeah, I feel that too but sometimes, the weight of the world doesn't always seen so heavy.

I want anyone reading this to know that life is hard for everyone and everyone is fighting their own battles. Spare some happiness and lend a helping hand to those who need it.

I love you mum, thank you for everything.

Date Ideas | Turo

Image result for couple tumblr

It's no shock that I'm single, however I am no stranger to a mate date.

Ok maybe a little bit of a weird intro but stay with me. Today I was inspired by Turo who are a peer-to-peer car rental company to talk to you about fun, unique date ideas for you and someone you love be it a partner or a friend.

After talking to a few of my friends and hours of scrolling through Pinterest I have came up with a list of 10 dates ideas that I find fun and hopefully you will too.

1) Visit a Castle

I love history, I love going to places like Anwick Castle and just exploring and going on tours. It's one of my favourite activities and it's something different to do with your date. I have written a post about the time my dad and I went to Anwick Castle - don't laugh it was to celebrate my exam results, let me live! - post

2) Netflix Night

It's no surprise that Netflix and Chill is on this list, there's so many things to watch and its a classic date idea. I thought i'd include it so I could talk about the documentary section. Just check it out.
You could also take this to the next level and cook a fancy meal, have a couple of glasses of wine and watch a film, heck build a den! Make it your own and have fun with it.

3) Go Exploring

A simple walk could take you anywhere if you let it. This is perfect for the autumn and winter, wrap up warm and go for a walk, it could be early morning or in the evening, anytime that fits around your busy day. I love going for walks I find it so relaxing.

4) Come Date With Me

If you and your partner are a little competitive this is perfect, have a series of date nights where you cook for each other and try and out do the other. You could even secretly score each other and have a prize for the winner.

5) Board Game Night

I love playing board games its my favourite part of Christmas, so what's more perfect then dusting off the monopoly and spending hours playing games. Turn your phone off and just enjoy the games.

6) Scavenger Hunt

This is the perfect idea for a double or even triple date, there's loads of different ways to do scavenger hunts from picture quizzes to treasure hunts. Find what works for you and then roll with it. Personally I love stuff like this its a fun alternative to a casual date.

7) Breakfast Picnic

Get up early and go for a walk and sit outside and eat a nice breakfast of fresh food and pastries. This could be perfect if you have a day off  or before work. Going to see the sunrise often sets people up for a happy positive day as its really relaxing, don't look at me it's science.

8) Live Music

It's no surprise I love going to concerts and pubs that play live music and it's a perfect date idea. Even better if you find an artist that you both love. Live music is so much fun because you have the atmosphere and you can just sing and dance together.

9) Zombie Tour

I must say I have left the best for the end, a scary horror night is always perfect, fun and scary night for you and your partner or even you and your friends. The adrenaline often brings out the fun. I once went on a ghost tour and it was scary but a lot of fun and a very different night out. Would 100% do a Zombie Tour like the ones in Vegas.

10) Go for a Drive

Going away for the weekend is always fun, but having the comfort of a peer rental car just adds to the fun. As mentioned at the beginning, I was inspired by Turo to talk to you about peer-to-peer car rental which is perfect if you're going away and want to earn a bit of extra cash. As a date renting a car is perfect, have your own little get away! If you live in the US make sure you check out Turo you never know someone might be renting out your dream car!
