Amber | Photography

One of my goals for 2018 was to begin working with models, this is a massive thing for me as it's been something I've really wanted to do but its so scary!

I met Amber through a Facebook modelling and photographer page. It was so fun and interesting to work with a model. It was amazing to be able to work with someone who has modelling experience.
We decided to head back to high level bridge where I shot with Laura a few weeks prior. It was super rainy so this location was perfect as the bridge was covered. What I find really interesting about these photos is how dark and gloomy the shadows are. It was fun to mess about with the editing as I haven't got a specific "style" yet which allows me to mess about and experiment with my images.

I loved this shoot, it was so amazing to work with a model and it was super exciting for me to be able to tick off one of my 2018 goals.

Introducing to you the wonderful Torie Gregory, no not Tori Vega from Victorious but I would have also loved that, this Torie just like Jonny (previous post) reached out to lend me their face in my time of desperation so for that Torie, I thank you.

I really enjoyed this shoot as I was able to bring along Chelsea Carr who if you're a long time reader will remember Amy Carr (Life through a lens) well Chelsea is her sister whom has just started her degree in Photography. It was super cool to be able to bring someone along and "teach them what I know" I say that barely knowing anything. Chelsea brought along her camera and got some amazing shots.

We once again went around the city centre looking for locations that both Chelsea and I wanted to shoot at to ensure we just didn't come out with carbon copies of each other.

I am happy with these photos but I hope to improve from them, with better use of posing and creativity. I feel I focused too much on Chelsea getting good shots that I almost forgot I was shooting as well.

Thank you so much to Torie it was a pleasure.
Look forward to working with you more Chelsea and I miss your sister.

Jonny | Photography

One day after a long stressful time alone after the end of university I reached out for help and advice from literally anyone in regards to my photography career/dreams via instagram story. The lovely Jonny Smith who is an old and dear friend reached out to me offering himself as a model and instantly I jumped at the opportunity as my portfolio is SERIOUSLY lacking males.

We met one afternoon in Newcastle city centre (where I have been shooting a lot recently and loving  it! There are so many unique and cool places to find) we strolled around shooting for a while then it started to rain - typical, we love shooting outdoors.

Jonny's car was parked in St James Park (football stadium) so we decided to head there away from the rain and see what the stadium had to offer and oh boy it did not disappoint!

The use of the long corridor and ceiling spot lights allowed for some super cool affects but also allowed me to practice my framing, placing Jonny in the middle of the road allowed for the leading lines to follow you to the subject.

I loved this shoot in terms of how much I learnt, I am not used to shooting in low light as my little Canon 550D just can't handle it. But surprisingly, minus the grain the photos turned out great!

Many thanks to Mr Jonny Smith!

Laura | Photography

Everyone say welcome back to Laura Wallace, a near and dear friend of mine. I met with her for the first time since I got back from Leeds. We decided to go for a little lunch and then do a photo shoot.

We went around the city centre and decided to head to the high level bridge as I had seen a few images from other local photographers shooting there. Whilst we were there we saw a wedding photo shoot going on at the bridge which was strange but also interesting to see the uses for this location.

I loved it so much there it worked so well the leading lines from the bridge created a really cool affect and I really enjoy the shadows that were created. One the way to the next location we found a blue garage door that perfectly matched Laura's

After that we headed to Civic Centre/Haymarket to take some images there which is a location I discovered on the shoot with Torie and Chelsea.

I love all the photos I did with Laura I think they're so new and interesting and I enjoyed the shoot and seeing Laura.

I have included a lot of images in today's post as there is loads I like and I want to start including more.
