Crazy Times | The Vamps

Sorry it’s been so long guys I’ve been SUPER busy but that’s okay because I have a very special blog post today!

If you recall all the way back in June I wrote a blog post about my favourite band The Vamps and I asked a couple of my friends what you think about The Vamps and got their opinions...

WELL NOW ... on Thursday (25/09/2014) I went to see The Vamps in Newcastle City Hall they’re currently on their first ever headline tour which Is absolutely crazy #CrazyTime Especially since today (30/09/2014) is the anniversary of their first single “Can We Dance” I am a very proud little “Vampettes”  These 4 boys have taught us that literally anything is possible if you believe in it and that in itself is so important. They came from practising in a garage to being stage and performing in London’s famous O2 arena 7 times in less than a year its madness.

Anyway, getting on to my experience because well it’s a good one.

The day started off full of nerves and doubt due to the fact that the day before my 2 friends Beth and Amy had just met James McVey (Guitarist) which happens to be their favourite so being me I put a lot of pressure on myself that I NEEDED to meet my favourite Brad Simpson (Lead vocals but also a man of many talents) but do I meet them?! You’ll have to read on to find out.

Much to my resentment I had to go to school during the day until 3.35 and honestly throughout the whole day the only thing I could think about was that people will already be at the venue potentially meeting them. Finally, the final bell went and it was go time! I ran out of school jumped in my mum’s car and went home to get ready.

My outfit for the concert was my Vamps top which I had made which had a picture of the boys on the front and then on the back said “Team Simpson” I made this top by doing an iron-on transfer which I have written a post about so you can check that out here. I didn’t want to buy one because personally I don’t really like the style or design so I made my own. I just paired this with some dark denim skinny jeans and my white converse. I didn’t bring a jacket because I knew I would get hot and it’s just another thing to carry.

Thanks Mother for taking this #LynnLad

Onc I met my friend Hannah at the metro It was about 4:10 and we jumped straight on the metro on the way to Newcastle (20 Minute Journey) but a only few hours ago James had tweeted asking people to bring Cat pictures to hold up when he sang Move My Way so obviously we wanted to for fill his request. So I and Hannah were sat on the metro eating chicken wraps and gluing cat pictures onto pieces of card.

Once we arrived at City Hall the first thing I did was walk up to two girls who were sat at the front of the venue and I asked “do you know if anything has happened yet? Have I missed anything?” go Jess great first impression. I then took these two girls under my wing as it was their first concert and said “come on lets go meet the vamps” obviously they didn’t hesitate and swiftly joined us.

The four of us walked around to the back door to a group of about 17 girls who again I approached them saying “what have I missed?! I’ve just arrived IS BRAD HERE!?!” and I was informed that James and Joe (manager, beautiful man) were inside the tour bus next to us and the other boys were inside doing sound check stuff.

I met some AMAZING people at the back door all of us waiting for a glimpse of the 4 boys we love unconditionally. After James had ran back inside more girls came and it all got kind of hectic.

Whilst we were all standing around waiting 3 BEAUTIFUL boys came around handing out leaflets to promote their band “The Secrets Music” who are a small band that started exactly like The Vamps did, on YouTube doing covers. Luke, Josh and Lewis are 3 lovely lads who were so nice and I’m so glad I met. Once they handed me a flyer the first thing I said was “oh my god that photos so cool I want to do that with my friends ITS SO COOL LOOK!” showing everyone the photo even thought they were holding a flyer themselves. Why do I do this? I’m too confident talking to people I don’t know it’s just word vomit. Luke was just standing around whilst Josh and Lewis talked to some fangirls and so I took it upon myself and beckoned him to me and a group of about 7 of us that had all just met and we all started to chat. I was mesmerised by his beauty, anyone who knows me knows I like brown haired boys who aren’t that tall. This is Luke.  We spoke for about 5 minutes and took selfies and I followed them on twitter I also got a selfie with Josh as I said “I like your jacket, I’m quite a denim jacket enthusiast myself” who says that? Why am I so bad with first impressions! Lewis walked over to me making a really weird noise with this hands and mouth and I didn’t know what was happening and so I recorded him doing it and I have showed so many people this 6 second video so confused every time and it’s just a blur of “I’m so confused” “how does that happen?” “I really don’t get it” I am so glad I met these 3 lads because they’re so great and we have endless twitter banter and I really hope they go far because from my impression of them they deserve it.

Lewis

After what felt like about an hour the 4 boys everyone was waiting for finally appeared and I did something really stupid *ashamed* I stopped Brad with my whole body and had the PERFECT selfie opportunity but my camera was facing the wrong way (not on selfie mode) he just laughed and carried on walking I was really upset and angry at myself.  I HAD ONE CHANCE. Perks of camera being the wrong way I got this BEAUTIFUL photo of James.

I mentioned before that I met some amazing people at the back door and honestly I did, The Vamps do incredible things from making music to bringing people together. I have spoken to some beautiful people online who live in America, London, Carlisle, Hartlepool and a few more places around the UK all because of 4 boys being the topic of conversation. I met The Secrets because of The Vamps If they didn’t come to the back door I would have no idea about them. I actually nearly lost my voice before I had even got into the venue due to singing outside and directing people so we could make a gap so the boys could get from the bus to the door. It was amazing to see so many people get along, singing and just talking I honestly loved it and I have stayed in contact with a couple of those girls I met and great friendships have been born.

Love of my life Maddie <3

Once all the boys had gone back into the building after I got a slight Brad and Connor selfie we had all dispersed ready to go watch the show.
Connor

Brad. I'm classing it ok.

Taking my seat just in time for Luke friend to come on which I’m not going to lie I didn’t really watch I spent my time running around the stalls talking to all my friends I had came with and had just made. Then Nina Nesbitt came and my friend Joanne Is a massive fan of her and Nina had announced she was going to be near the merch stands just before The Vamps come on stage so being the incredible friend I am, I made my way to the merch stand to try and get Joanne a video message but, honestly the crowd was insane! It was absolutely packed myself and Maddie spent the entire time trying to get back repeating “we’ve made a terrible mistake” finally out we returned to our seats.
I was incredibly lucky as I had bagged incredible seats (Stalls Row H) we were very close to the front and due to the fact people in front of us had gathered at the stage there was a large space in front of us making the 4 of us (Hannah, Beth, me then Ellie) really stand out singing and dancing with a massive smile on our faces.
That's Luke Friend

I had 2 connections with members of The Vamps during their set. The first was with Mr Bradley Will Simpson who kept trying to read my poster which said “I’m hella rad 4 Brad” and after he finally did read it he said “I hope you’ve all had a rad night” it was magical. My 2nd connection was with Mr Connor Samuel John Ball as during Cecilia I was so happy I couldn’t stop smiling and singing he looked over to me and we started SINGING TOGETHER ok guys I’m not even joking it was like 2 lines we locked eyes and were SINGING TO EACHOTHER it changed my life.

#MadeItMyself

Ok so this has gone on for quite a while so I’m going to insert some photographs that I have taken/ my friends due to my phone dying. I have realised whenever I go to concerts I just ask my friends to take the photos. I mean it isn’t a bad thing I don’t have to worry about it.

Me and Paige licked the bus #SorryNotSorry

Lucky people at the front

V.Sweaty post gig selfie.

I had such a good time seeing the boys and meeting new people I would do it all again anytime anywhere. Also make sure you check out The Secrets Music (@TheSecretsMusic) on Youtube and Twitter but stay away from Luke he’s mine #Juke

Fashion | Fridays

Happy Friday people, another post #3for3

Today’s post is more of a fashion type post, since my sixth form doesn’t have a uniform it’s very easy to get trapped in the comfortable leggings and hoodie stage so I’ve picked out 2 comfortable, cute outfits that make it look like you’ve tried harder than you have. Unfortunately I don't have any links or prices unless I can remember a couple, but I hope it's given you an idea of simple outfits.

Starting off we have this cute shorts ensemble, I love this outfit because it’s so comfortable and sometimes it’s too hot in school so a cardigan is perfect as its not heavy to carry and the short sleeves of the top make it easy to cool down. I was very sceptical about a cardigan as I’d never worn one before but I actually really liked it. I wore trainers with this because my feet were hurting this morning but I still think they go.
Top: Matalan
Shorts: Matalan
Belt: Primark £3
Cardigan: Primark £12
Bag: New Look £24.99
Trainers: Nike £35
Tights: Primark £2.50
My 2nd outfit is definitely more dressy  (pardon the pun) this dress is honestly so comfortable I’d sleep in it if I could. I paired it with this super baggy Demin jacket and I really liked it, the jacket makes it a lot more casual and the pink converse make it super cute and obviously I love my Pink converse.

Dress: Primark £12
Denim Jacket: Urban Outfitters (It's Levi) £55
Tights: Primark £2.50
Shoes: Schuh

I have a problem

This might be a weird post but I need to get something off my chest, it’s a serious issue and I do not want to be laughed at nor do I want to be judged but erm.... I’m addicted to foam shrimps and bananas.

I don’t know what happened to me I’m ashamed that I’ve let it go this far.
So the story begins when I, my father and older male sibling went to Alton Towers. I was waiting in line for Rita when suddenly a woman pulled out of her large backpack a bag of shrimps and bananas my eyes were drawn to them immediately baring in mind at this point I was so hungry I was secretly praying that she would offer me one. She didn’t.

From that moment onwards I couldn’t get them off my mind I needed some, I had completely forgotten that they even existed, but from this moment I knew I needed to taste the pink and yellow foam. (That sounded absolutely disgusting it was with all good intentions)

Suddenly only a few days later I found myself in Poundland buying a bag, I didn’t know what they were going to taste like but as soon as I bit one I knew I had made the correct decision.

Since the moment I saw that slightly larger than average woman eating the foam sweets that I was sure I didn’t like I can’t stop eating them. It’s hit all new extremes I chose a packet of pink foam shrimps over chocolate and Percy Pigs yesterday. What has become of me?

I need help.
Is there therapy for this sort of thing? If so I think need it.

Yours truly,

Autumnal Wish List

I don’t know if you’re aware but autumn is my favourite season of the year candles, crunchy leaves, deep colours, darker nights and most importantly it’s nearly Christmas but without the snow so it’s better.

I was in the shops yesterday when I noticed the autumn stock was in and it was beautiful. If I had the money I would have bought everything in sight right there and then, if so this would be a haul not a wish list but hey a girl can dream.

So I have decided I want to do a wish list of clothes, make up, shoes and random bits and bobs that I want for the autumn months. I’m going to try and keep this short so there’ll be lots of pictures and links to products.

First things first (I’m the realist) I went onto New Looks website and found some things I like.

New look

I was instantly drawn to this “Dark Green Checker Blanket Wrap” can we talk about this for a second. It’s a blanket that you wear outside its genius and everything I want. I think it would great for a cold autumn day with a pair of black jeans or leggings and a plain/simple top. I would 100% pay £19.99 for a blanket I can wear outside. The model is shown with a belt being used to hold the wrap together and I think it looks so cute however, I don’t think it would match my body shape so I would probably let it hang and then wrap it around myself manually when it gets a little chilly.

I am all for graphic tees, weekends and I love the winter so everything about this is perfect. Autumn and winter are perfect for layering and it’s not all about jumpers and big coats. I don’t know about anyone else but when I’m walking to school no matter how cold it is outside I am still boiling when I step into the building. So a simple top is really handy and can never go wrong and for only £9.99 you simply cannot go wrong.

So I saw this really pretty white love heart shirt in Marks and Spencer’s and I really liked it because it was so cute and slightly girly even though it did remind me of valentine’s day I still think it’s a chic thing you could wear with leggings or jeans. It was slightly pricey at £29.50 so when I found this black and white one in New Look for only £17.99 I was thrilled and now I want to buy it.

The final thing I found in new look is this adorable pink cardigan for only £29.99 I love it because my favourite colour is pink and I think it would be perfect for those more chilly days. The only problem I would have is that it wouldn’t go with a lot of my current wardrobe. To have a coloured jacket I feel you’d need a lot of plain monochrome in the rest of your outfit. Saying that it is very nice and I do like it but I would expect high quality and it to be incredibly soft due to it being £29.99.

River Island

Last year I really wanted some Timberland boots but I couldn’t afford any so this River Island pair is a perfect alternative for only £45 which I admit is a little pricey but might be worth it for quality boots. I think these boots are perfect for autumn and winter because the brown goes really well with anything and reminds me of the colour of crunchy leaves.

Anyone who knows me knows I love One Direction so when I saw this I instantly wanted it. If you have no idea what I’m talking about have you been living under a rock? This top says “Little black dress” because well it’s a little black dress but One Direction has a song called “Little black dress” that basically changed my life. Also this little dress could never go wrong really jsut pair it with a cute pair of boots and a coat/cardigan and boom done. This cute long tee style dress is only £22 which isn’t too bad for River Island however, maybe a little expensive for what it is.

Boots

I’ve heard so much hype about the Kate Moss lipsticks and I really want to try them so they’re making a proud spot on my wish list. I always think a dark deep lip colour is perfect for autumn and I really want to make an effort with my make up fitting with the trends as it’s so easy to get stuck in the same make up routine and I want to branch out.

£5.49 2 for £10 on selected Rimmel Products

The last thing I found from boots was this really nice dark palette; I often stick to my browns and neutrals so this palette is perfect due to the dark natural colours. I’m not sure I would use all of the colours for example I would stay well away from the blue as I have a fear, however the greens remind me of a mossy forest and I like that.
£7.99 Buy 1 get 1 half Price on selected Sleek Products

Yankee Candle

There is nothing better than a nice cinnamon candle for autumn to get you excited for Christmas and feel all comfy and wrapped up and I love this Yankee Candle. It burns so well and lets off a strong wonderful smell right until the end. Yankee Candle has so many nice winter/Christmas candles I just want them all! And for a decent size candle that lasts about 2-3 weeks £9.95 is not bad at all.

Primark

I love fairy lights so when you can get cheap super cute ones I can’t complain really. I’m currently re-doing my room and I knew I wanted some fairy lights to go around my bed and they were about £3 in the sale which is an utter bargain! Also since Primark doesn’t have a website I found a link to some kindof Primark blog.

I hope you enjoyed this little autumn type wish list post I enjoyed online window shopping and now I want to buy everything.
Adios! Until next time.

Very Berry

So FINALLY after using the same loyal bag for about 5 years I finally found and invested in one I truly love!

My new bag is beautiful it’s from New Look and cost me all of £24.99, what a bargain! The colour is very berry and really stands out and is quite autumnal which I enjoy.

My beloved friend Beth has a post about her bag also from New Look (I may or may not have accidentally copied but we don’t talk about that) Read that here

This bag is a good size so I can use it for school I was actually really cool and took my biggest file when I was looking for one just to make sure things actually fit in it.

Yes I love this bag a lot and can’t wait to use it, I’ll let you know how long it is before it breaks hopefully it’ll be in 6 years.

Top 5 Disney Animations

Who doesn’t love a good Disney film? Well today myself, Hilly, Joanne and Cath had a Disney princess day and it got me thinking “what are the best Disney Animations?” so I asked around and we each came up with our top 5 Disney Animations.

My top 5 are:
  1. Tangled
  2. The Little Mermaid
  3. Cars
  4. Wreck It Ralph
  5. Frozen

It starts with a flower, a magical golden flower. I love tangled lots because I like the high quality colours which make it feel happy and upbeat a bit like High School Musical 2, also who doesn’t love the classic German story of Rapunzel?

I have loved The Little Mermaid since I was very little I used to watch it almost every day when I was little, I can’t quite explain why it’s so good it just is.

For some reason not a lot of people like Cars but personally I really enjoy it I watch it at least twice a week I find it really amusing.

Where do I begin with Wreck it Ralph both this and Cars aren’t musicals and I really like that about them, I mean don’t get me wrong I LIVE for a Disney sing-a-long but both Cars and Wreck It Ralph wouldn’t be the same if suddenly Ralph broke out in song. The main reason I like Wreck It Ralph is because it has a very unique storyline which like most Disney films is loved by people of all ages.

Frozen is Disney’s newest animation and I love it, I first saw it in the cinema on Christmas Eve but it certainly isn’t just a Christmas film. There is so much hype about Frozen and at first I didn’t understand why but after I watched it another like 5 times I now understand it’s amazing. I’m currently watching it as I write this #SorryNotSorry
